Solar Panel

Solar Panel

Ok, so.. Long story short, our Canadian Tire had a $30 Eliminator 1.8W solar panel on sale for $10 this week. :eep:

I couldn’t resist picking one up. it came with a Cigarette Lighter adapter, a barrel-plug adapter, and battery clips. I’m sure I could think of a PIC project or three I could run off of Solar Power. Right now, It’s hanging in my windows by suction cup to charge a couple of 7Ah 12V Sealed Lead Acid batteries.

  1. hi  i just bought one today.. i dont fully understand it… so i need an answer… i stuck it to my windshield and connected the plug for the 12V outlet and i plugged it into the 12V unit. does plugging it into the 12V accessory outlet help increase battery life to anything in the car or is it just sitting around doing nothing?

    1. Yep, it trickle charges the battery. Now, supposedly you shouldn’t have solar panels connected to a running car, but I don’t know about this one.
