Another view of the conquered engine.
Teardown of the old GM 3100 engine from the red Corsica with a supposedly blown head gasket. I couldn’t find a blow-out spot, so I decided to get a rebuilt engine just in case a cylinder wall cracked.

Here’s the oil pump and various sensors that came off the lower end of the engine.
Here’s the timing chain; it has a little play, but I guess that’s to be expected after 175,000 miles.
Here’s the bottom end of the engine, it’s in great shape considering what it’s been through.
